KIS Donates UGX 37M COVID 19 Relief Items to the District Taskforce
24th Jun 2020

With Support from our Shareholder InfraCo Africa and Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), we donated relief items amounting to UGX 37m to Kalangala District COVID-19 Taskforce on Tuesday 23rd June 2020. This donation was part of the grant from PIDG to support local communities affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic on Bugala Island-Kalangala District.
This was in addition to the earlier support given to the District institutional quarantine centre and the full support worth UGX22M per month given to screening centres at the Ferry docking points, since March 2020.
This donation was delivered as part of our CSR to support the most vulnerable communities across 25 villages & people in quarantine centre (COVID-19 control guidelines sensitization, handwashing booths, food relief items) and Frontline medical workers (gloves, masks and hand sanitizers).
In the picture, the KIS Public Relations Manager hands-over the items to the Residential District Commissioner (RDC) and District Health Inspector (DHI) on behalf of the District COVID-19 Taskforce.
Collective efforts in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 are the way to go …
